Bosé, the Shine Iberia series currently available on SkyShowtime, continues to reap international success. This time the good news comes from New York, where the prestigious New York Festivals TV & Film Awards took place on 19 April, highlighting the best film and TV work in more than 50 countries around the world.

The series, directed by Fernando Trullols and Miguel Bardem, received a Gold Medal in the ‘Best Entertainment Program’ category and a Silver Medal in the ‘Best Direction’ category. Both awards represent further recognition of the workmanship and high production standards of the series, which is executive produced by Macarena Rey and scripted by a team coordinated by showrunner Nacho Faerna and including Ángeles González Sinde, Isabel Vázquez and Boris Izaguirre.

The biopic about the dramatic and passionate life of the renowned artist Miguel Bosé arrived in Spain a few weeks ago through the SkyShowtime platform after a spectacular reception in other markets (Mexico, Chile, Italy, USA) thanks to its broadcast on Paramount+. The original series is produced by Paramount, in collaboration with Shine Iberia (Banijay Iberia), Elefantec Global and Legacy Rock.

From birth, Miguel Bosé was destined to break the mould and invent his own, outside the rigid conventions imposed at the time he grew up. His father was one of the biggest names in bullfighting, traditional and conservative. While his mother was a great Italian film star, sophisticated and modern. Thus, Bosé inherited his father’s character and his mother’s beauty, and the rebelliousness and elegance of both.

Surrounded by a halo of mystery, he has always been very jealous of his privacy and few know his story. For the first time, Miguel Bosé will share part of his private life, with its strengths and weaknesses, and that of an artist with a unique and very recognisable personality, exclusively on SkyShowtime. Bosé is an unprecedented work of art in its own right, transporting viewers to different moments in the singer-songwriter’s life and career that began in the late 1970s.

Each of the six episodes of the series focuses on a Miguel Bosé song and tells the story behind his life at the time, showing its inspiration, composition and recording. In this way, through flashbacks, the viewer travels through the different moments of the artist’s life based on his hits. The present of the series takes place during the promotion of his multi-platinum album Papito, a special moment for Miguel on a personal level, because it is when he decides to realise a long-delayed dream: to become a father.

José Pastor and Iván Sánchez play Miguel Bosé at different times in his life. In addition, part of the cast includes Nacho Fresneda (Luis Miguel Dominguín), Valeria Solarino (Lucía Bosé), Alicia Borrachero (La Tata), Ana Jara (Rosa Lagarrigue), José Sospedra (Pablo Alborch), Miguel Ángel Muñoz (Julio Iglesias) and Mariela Garriga (Giannina Facio), among others.
