The LovieAwards award the #ElGranSecuestro multi-platform event with the bronze prize. The mission of the Lovie Awards is to recognise the unique and resonant nature of the European internet community. After seven editions they have become the most prestigious European awards in the field of the Internet. Ana Rivas, Executive Producer of Shine Iberia, appreciates the recognition of the format “The Bronze in the prestigious Lovie Awards represents the recognition of a different audiovisual narrative. ‘El gran secuestro’ is the result of the talent of its creators, Manuel Bartal and Modesto García, and connects immediately with the audience thanks to the enormous digital participation of the viewers. From Shine Iberia we are grateful for this distinction for a multiplatform event in which the plot is written jointly by the celebrities who participate and the rrss users themselves”.
“El gran secuestro” is consolidated as one of the most applauded original formats this year. The Bronze Lovie adds to the list of awards that the program has received in the last year: the Silver Globe received at the Hamburg TV festival and the honorable mention at the Webby Awards in the category of Rare and Experimental.

ElGranSecuestro event was broadcast on the Playz digital channel. The original idea of Manuel Bartual and Modesto García was inspired by escape rooms and video games in which four famous “kidnap victims” (Ruth Lorenzo, the rapper Arkano and the presenters Máximo Huerta and María Gómez) had to overcome, with the help of the spectators, various tests in order to escape.

The participation of the live spectators was done through the social networks with a solid and clear mechanic. Thanks to this, #ElGranSecuestro became a successful multiplatform format at its launch: the event became a continuous trending topic. It was among the most talked about topics in the country for four days. On twitter it generated a potential impact of 13.5 million people with more than 25,000 tweets. In addition to this, the Playz account was published and received more than 2.4 million impressions, which was 760% more than any other day.
The digital success doesn’t end here. The conversation, participation in the plot and the extra activity made the leap to YouTube, as viewers commented on what was happening in the rooms and tried to help the kidnap victims. 100,000 views (live and VOD) put an end to this multi-platform event.
A great story, with an original mechanics that counted with the best professionals, positioned #ElGranSecuestro as a new audiovisual show. Sometime later, it continues to be applauded by critics.
