Nacho is a film and television scriptwriter. In 1994 he won the Goya for Best Documentary Short Film for “Verano en la universidad”, written and directed by him. Two years later, he wrote the screenplay for “La Madre”, which won the Goya for Best Fiction Short Film. He wrote the screenplay for “The Ugliest Woman in the World”, a film that won the Méliès d’Argent 2000 at the Fantasporto Festival and Best Film at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival 2000, in South Korea.

In television, he has been a scriptwriter for “Amar en tiempos revueltos”, “El Comisario” (where he was also executive producer) and a creator and executive producer of the miniseries “El asesinato de Carrero Blanco”, “La Piel Azul”, the series “La Fuga” and the tv movie “Prim. El Asesinato de la Calle del Turco”. The latest one received several international awards, such as the Silver Globe at the World Media Festival 2015 in Hamburg and the Gold Word Medal at the New York Festivals Awards 2015.

He is also the author of the novels “Quieto”, which was a finalist for the prestigious Tigre Juan Award for the best first narrative work in Spanish in 2001, “Bendita democracia americana”, finalist for the Novelpol Award for the best Spanish crime novel in 2004, “Prim. El Asesinato de la Calle del Turco”, based on the script of the television film, and the children’s novel “Olvídate de subir a los árboles”, finalist for the Edebé Prize in 2004.
